Grey Nightjar
A dark, greyish nightjar. Crown darker than Large-tailed Nightjar, white throat patch smaller to the point of being indistinct. Buff patches on wing coverts and flight feathers give it a spotted appearance. In flight, white patch on flight feathers and tail is smaller compared to Large-tailed Nightjar.

Large-tailed Nightjar
Most frequently encountered and largest nightjar. Buff-grey crown contrasts with rich brown face and white throat patch. Scapulars dark with pale edges and wing-covert feathers pale tipped, giving it a spotted appearance. At rest its wings extend to midway along tail, unlike other nightjars. In flight the large white patches on flight feathers and white tips to outer tail feathers are diagnostic.
