Pink-necked Green Pigeon

Commonest green pigeon in Singapore. Bluish-grey head of amle integrades into pinkish neck, which contrasts with the orange patch on the breast. Wings pale green with balck flight feathers. Undertail coverts chestnut. In flight, black subterminal tail band distinguishes it from other green pigeons. Female is largely green.

Pied Imperial Pigeon

Unmistakable white pigeon with black wing tips and tail. Both sexes entirely creamy white, with black flight feathers and lower half of the tail. Bill and feet bluish grey.

Zebra Dove

The smaller of the two native urban doves. It has uniformly light brown plumage with heavy barring on the upperparts as well as the sides of its neck and flanks. Its eye-ring and base of the bill are distinctive shade of light blue.

Spotted Dove

The larger and more common of the two native urban doves. It can be distinguished from the smaller Zebra Dove by its larger size, pinkish-brown head and underparts, and black neck collar that is heavily spotted.

Jambu Fruit Dove

A colourful pigeon with a distinct-red face in both sexes. Male is largely green on the upperparts, contrasting sharply with white underparts, washed pink at the breast. Female is mostly green except for underparts, which are dirty white.

Common Emerald Dove

A colourful pigeon of the forest floor. Head, neck and breast of male a rich vinous-pink contrasting with white forehead and shoulder patch. Bill bright red. Wings and back a rich iridescenbt green. Female is similar to the male, but has a grey forehead patch.

Red Turtle Dove

The only pigeon with a black collar on the hindback, sometimes confused wiht Spotted Dove. Wings and back rufous, lightly contrasting with light bluish-grey head. Rump and tail grey, with white edge to tail tip which is visible in flight and a diagnostic feature. Female has a less rich plumage and are pale brown on the wings and back.
